Term 3 - Swimming Level 1: Independent Swimming

Entry:
-Swimmers should be confident in the water without parental aid
-Swimmers should be able to understand and follow instruction
-Swimmers should be able to use swimming aids to perform basic movements
Graduation:
-Swimmers will be able to be able to kick 25m using each swimming stroke
-Swimmers will be able to completely submerge and retrieve an item
-Swimmers will be able to swim 25m freestyle using a kickboard

Term 3 - Swimming Level 2: Stroke Development

Entry:
-Swimmers should be competent in 3 out of 4 kicking styles
-Swimmers should be able to identify the arms for each stroke
-Swimmers should be able to perform independent swimming on front and back
Graduation:
-Swimmers will be able to swim all strokes, demonstrating correct breathing patterns
-Swimmers will be able to swim each stroke, independent of aids for 25m
-Swimmers can confidently perform underwater tasks and streamlines

Term 3 - Swimming Development Squad

Sunday, 10:15 am - 11:00 am
Entry:
-Swimmers should be confident in swimming over 1000m per 1 hour session
-Swimmers should be able to perform each stroke for 25m at competitive pace
-Swimmers should be confident in swimming each stroke for 100m continuously (allowance for butterfly)
-Swimmers should demonstrate knowledge of how to increase the speed and efficiency of a stroke (basic knowledge)
Graduation:
-Swimmers will be able to swim efficient strokes for at least 100m
-Swimmers will have consistently well timed and efficient breathing over 100m swims
-Swimmers will be able to perform a dive start and appropriate FINA turn for each stroke

Term 3 - Swimming Level 3: Stroke Correction

Entry:
-Swimmers should be able to kick each stroke for at least 50m
-Swimmers should be able to swim full stroke for 25m showing correct breathing
-Swimmers should demonstrate knowledge of force and resistance
Graduation:
-Swimmers will be able to swim efficient strokes for at least 100m
-Swimmers will have consistently well timed and efficient breathing over 100m swims
-Swimmers will be able to perform a dive start and appropriate FINA turn for each stroke
